I am all about doing things that stir interest get people to ASK ME about oils.

I am not a person who can walk up to a person and start a conversation with a stranger, but I often have conversations with strangers. Just by wearing either Abundance or Christmas Spirit essential oil blend, I have people comment on how wonderful I smell. I say, “It’s one of my favorite mood uplifting essential oils. Have you ever used essential oils? …”

There are many ways to stimulate interest and start essential oil conversations.

Here are a few ideas:

1. WEAR essential oils. This is so HUGE. People will comment on how wonderful you smell. It’s an opening. Don’t miss this one!
Also –>>> Pull out oils and USE them in front of people. I like to put lemon oil or peppermint oil on the table when eating in a restaurant or with friends and family. I am always USING oils in front of people.

2. Strategically display essential oil items all around your house and wherever you are. I have baskets of essential oil bottles around my house for a dual purpose. Handy quick access and so pretty but also for visitors see them and make a comment or ask a question. Opening for a time of oil sharing. Easy Peasy!!!

3. Wearing essential oil related or Young Living Essential Oil promotional items. If you have attended any of Young Living conventions you know they always give you a really nice bag with the Young Living logo and other things like a spiral notebook and pen. Using these things can stimulate interest but also, you are reminding people that you use Young Living Oils and you have an oils business. I do this EVERY SINGLE TIME I am with anyone. You won’t have a conversation about oils or the business every time you use a promotional item but you are always reminding people that you do oils. The more you do it, the more people will remember you when the time is right for them.

Pay close attention to Young Living’s Seasonal Catalogs. They are often filled with gift ideas that have the Young Living logo on them. These things make great promotional tools.

There are lots of great ideas to remind people that you have an oils business and stir conversation about essential oils.

They always have cool promotional items in the Product Expo at convention. I have picked up coffee mugs, shirts and hats, a jacket, grocery shopping bags, awesome water bottles a calculator and pen set plus several other things.

One of the bags I got now serves as my laptop bag. I like it better than the one I got for my laptop because of the beautiful Young Living logo on it.

The point I am trying to make here is that we always need to be aware of opportunities to let people know what we do. We all have a lot of these tools in our possession but are we using them? I have to admit, there have been times I grabbed plain ole mugs instead of my beautiful Young Living mugs.

Always in subtle marketing mode. šŸ˜‰

Secret to Young Living Business Success
You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.ā€ ~ John C. Maxwell

That’s a great quote by John C. Maxwell. Successful Young Living business builders know they need to do a few things every day that move them forward in their business. What is your daily routine like? It is a good idea to step back once in a while and think about what you are doing in your business. Are you really doing things that are going to help you progress toward your goals?

Being consistent has everything to do with your vision. If you have a vision of who you want to be and what you want your business and your life to look like, this will drive your daily activities. If you are struggling with consistency, you likely have a weak vision of what you want your business to look like. You need to get clear on what you want your life and your business to look like.

Write your vision on a note card. Try to be as detailed as possible as you write a picture of what your success will look like. Spend a few minutes every morning reading your card and thinking about your vision. Picture yourself already achieving your goals.

When you create and then focus on your vision. This will help drive you to do your daily routine.

In your Daily Routine you should:

1. Talk to people – Every day, talk to as many people as possible: in person, on Facebook, through email, on the phone or whatever means you have. Drop tidbits that spark interest, leave brochures, leave behinds, drop cards, product placement, etc to spark conversations. Send people to your web site. Never give any piece of marketing material without your web site on it.

2. Study – You need to spend a little time each day on personal development. The ones who do this are the ones who get the best results. I still do this daily, even after 26 years in Young Living and 28 years in network marketing. We all need to be serious about personal development.

3. Attend company events – People often say they can’t afford to go to events, they aren’t making enough money or that they don’t know what they are doing. Attending company events will help you in these areas.

Another way to keep your vision in front of you is to create a Mind Movie or a Vision Board that you will look at every day. You can also use the Mind Movie I created for you.

The poem below was read at Young Living Convention 2013. It’s a good one because it gets you thinking. We see things from our own perspective but sometimes we are wrong. That’s why we need to listen to other people and widen our scope of vision and understanding. It applies to a lot of things in life and your Young Living business.

Anyway . . .

The Cookie Thief
A woman was waiting at an airport one night, with several long hours before her flight. She hunted forCookie Thief Poem a book in the airport shops, bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop.

She was engrossed in her book but happened to see, that the man sitting beside her, as bold as could be. . . grabbed a cookie or two from the bag in between, which she tried to ignore to avoid a scene.

So she munched the cookies and watched the clock, as the gutsy cookie thief diminished her stock. She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by, thinking, ā€œIf I wasnā€™t so nice, I would blacken his eye.ā€

With each cookie she took, he took one too, when only one was left, she wondered what he would do. With a smile on his face, and a nervous laugh, he took the last cookie and broke it in half.

He offered her half, as he ate the other, she snatched it from him and thought… oooh, brother. This guy has some nerve and heā€™s also rude, why he didnā€™t even show any gratitude!

She had never known when she had been so galled, and sighed with relief when her flight was called. She gathered her belongings and headed to the gate, refusing to look back at the thieving ingrate.

She boarded the plane, and sank in her seat, then she sought her book, which was almost complete. As she reached in her baggage, she gasped with surprise, there was her bag of cookies, in front of her eyes.

If mine are here, she moaned in despair, the others were his, and he tried to share. Too late to apologize, she realized with grief, that she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief.

Have you ever noticed, when you go to the theater to see a movie, you can see familiar brands woven throughout the movie. Strategically placed products put there as subtle advertising. A few years ago I saw a documentary on television about advertising and how companies are actually paying to have their products placed in movies.

When I saw that documentary I started thinking about ways I could use a similar technique in my business advertising. Why not strategically place products and other items related to your business around for people to see and spark interest in Young Living products or business.

I have been doing this for years with some really funny results. My favorite is with Thieves Product Line. I keep a Thieves Foaming Hand Cleaner in every bathroom. Young Living has other foaming hand cleaners but the Thieves Story is priceless. People walk out of the bathroom with a smile and a question. They always want to know why it’s called Thieves. I LOVE that! I tell them the Thieves Story.

If you don’t know the Thieves Story, I recommend you get familiar with it.

When people ask questions, it is an opening to drip bits of information on them. Thieves products have a great story. Tell the Thieves Story!

The Story of Thieves Oil

Young Living’s Thieves essential oil blend was created based on the historical story of four thieves in Europe who protected themselves from the black plague with cloves, rosemary, and other aromatics while robbing victims of the killer disease. When captured, they were offered a lighter sentence in exchange for their secret recipe. In modern days, these same herbs and essential oils have been found to be an effective barrier against topical and airborne microorganisms.

Young Living’s proprietary Thieves oil blend includes clove, cinnamon bark, rosemary, lemon, and Eucalyptus radiata and has been specially blended to offer the same kind of defense as it did in the fifteenth century.

Thieves oil has been university tested and found to be highly effective in supporting the immune system and good health.

Let’s face it, germs, bacteria and respiratory viruses that surround us have never been stronger, or more antibiotic-resistant. That’s why it’s more important than ever to keep your health on alert against attacks to your immune system.

I never start in on a sales pitch but I DO let them know I am a distributor for the products. I just drop bits of information and let them keep coming back with more questions. The conversation flows naturally and people often want to know how to get the products for themselves.

Young Living has so many great products that can be used as product placement advertising in your home or anywhere you happen to be. There are other ideas that are not Young Living products but you can use as conversation openers.

Young Living has lots of non-toxic personal care products, you could have those placed around but another good idea is to have the brochure, “Rub a Dub Dub. Is Cancer In Your Tub?” sitting out where people can see it. You could also have a copy of the tucked into the booklet. I love to show how people manufacturing products with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate are required to wear rubber suits and masks.

Other things you could place around to generate interest are company magazines, brochures about specific products and industry related books. Books related to network marketing or home business success. If you have been on company trips, have a few pictures framed and placed where people can see them.

There are loads of ideas for ways you can stimulate interest in your business or the products. Think about what you have available within your company. Place as many things around you as possible whether at work or at home in places where visitors will see things. Then be ready with something to say that may cause the visitor to want more information.
