Welcome to Young Living Business Builders. This website is brought to you by Melodie Kantner, Brandon Kantner and Melissa Boice.

We have been successfully building our Young Living business since 1997. This blog is about Young Living Business Success. Building your business in a way that feels natural and easy. I have always used and taught ways that get people to come to YOU. To ask YOU questions about the oils. I never liked the old style network marketing ways that make you feel icky.

If it’s not comfortable and FUN, it will be difficult to build a business. We are all about enjoying the journey.

You never know when you are going to have an opportunity to stir up some interest in your product or the business opportunity you represent. If you are anything like me, approaching strangers to start talking about your business or products feels uncomfortable. Most people feel uncomfortable with that.

Attract Prospects By Building Friendships
The best way to prospect is to make new friends. Widen out your contacts and connections. Once you put yourself out there and actually make new friends, real friends, you will have more people who may be interested in joining you on your lifestyle of health and freedom.

When you meet someone new, connect on Facebook or Instagram, right there on the spot. That way you can keep interacting with them on social media. Pay attention to their posts. Give a little love and comment. You are building relationships. When you post your oily lifestyle posts, they will be more likely to pay attention. Invite them to your oil classes.

Of course, the best place to start is with the friends you have right now. Do you have a few people you would love to join you on your journey of health and freedom? Have those people over for dinner, meet for lunch. Have a girls night or a ladies spa night or a spa time for moms. Invite the neighbors over for a backyard barbecue.

Don’t start talking oils or the business right away. Get to know each other. Let them know you like to live a healthy lifestyle with essential oils. This should come up naturally in the conversation because it is part of your life. Incite curiosity by having your oils and oil related products out everywhere. Wear your oils. You smell good. People sill ask about it. We have it pretty easy with essential oils because we can easily bring up the oils without even saying a word. I LOVE that!

Expanding your friends and contacts is one of the most valuable things you can do to build your business. The more people you know the better. There are lots of ways to find new connections that can grow into awesome friendships and some will join your oil community. Here are a few ideas:

Co-workers – Get to know them beyond a simple office connection.

Neighbors – Talk to your neighbors.

Strike up conversations wherever you happen to be — in line at the grocery store, start a conversation with someone around you.

Have a party – Have a casual dinner party or barbecue and invite your neighbors, people from work, or acquaintances you’ve bumped into along the way.

Have friends over for Game Night

Alumni Events – What are your classmates from high school and college doing now? Connect on Facebook and stay in touch with them regularly.

Join the gym, Health Club, Yoga, Spa – When you’re taking a break from working out, chat with your neighbors.

Community Events – Is your community hosting a 5 km run, doing a road cleanup, or hosting a free concert? Go out and participate.

Clubs and Groups – Join a club or local group of people who enjoy doing the same things as you. Become a regular and strike up conversations with other members. The possibilities are endless: Mom groups, business groups, book clubs, art clubs …
Check out www.meetup.com for some ideas for things going on in your area. There is a section on wellness:
    https://www.meetup.com/topics/wellness

Hiking or Walking your Dog – Strike up conversations with people on the path. People love to stop and chat about dogs.

Volunteer – Volunteering is a great way to meet people and get to know them better. Volunteer in areas that are meaningful and interesting to you.

Join Toastmasters or another speaking club – Speaking clubs not only give you the opportunity to meet people, you also get to practice your presentations and oil classes.

Farmers Market – The farmers market is always fun and full of people who love healthy eating. It is often a very social atmosphere.

Accept invitations – When people invite you to an event, GO! You never know who you’ll meet or what connections you might make.

Facebook or other social media – Social media is a good way to connect and get to know people. There are Facebook Groups with people of similar interests. Be regular in groups and comment. Connect with people who are similar. Don’t talk oils, just connect and friend. Commenting in the group before you start connecting with individuals will help them recognize you when you send a friend request. Even better, like or comment on one of their comments in the group.

Regardless of where you meet people, have conversations. Not salesy but real friendship. Love on people and be friendly. Serve people, help and share.

Keep in regular contact by whatever means you can. You should be talking with them as often as possible. You should know what their interests are and mention those in future conversations. Some of these people will become close friends. Some will be potential for the future. Make sure you invite any of these new contacts to your oil classes.

If you approach every stranger as a friend you haven’t met yet and just smile and say “HI!”, it will feel natural.

The key is to ALWAYS BE READY! Always ready to connect with people. That begins with being friendly and having a warm approachable energy that you sending out. Have a warm friendly smile on your face. Relax. Be yourself. Be friendly and likable.

When you are standing in a line at the grocery store or sitting in a waiting room or a variety of other places, there are often opportunities to talk to people. Are you aware and watching for these opportunities? Are you wearing your oils? I always have my Abundance oil on. It has started MANY conversations.

Well, there you have it. There are lots more but hopefully these ideas will help you get the wheels turning. Have fun!!

Secret to Success in your Young Living BusinessThere are actually more than 7 secrets to success in Your Young Living Business. Well, let’s get real. They aren’t really secrets but, when you are just starting out, building a successful Young living business can seem like a daunting task. The same thing can happen if you go through a rough patch and find things stalled for a time. Sometimes you need a mindset reboot. Speaking from experience. 😉

Here are seven of the more important things that all successful business builders know and apply. If you are not aware of these and focusing on them, you will have a tough time achieving any level of success in your Young Living business.

    1. The Number One Secret is YOU. – You are the secret to your own success. You have to WANT it, you have to COMMIT to doing the work. Some of that work will need to be self development and working on any subconscious fears that may be getting in your way. If you don’t, it makes everything a struggle. You may find it difficult to maintain any success that you achieve because something in the self conscious says you aren’t good enough so it begins to put the brakes on.

That is why I started EFT for Network Marketers. It is centered around releasing the subconscious blocks that are holding you back from reaching your highest potential.

    2. Know Your WHY – This is another crucial one. Your WHY is your driving force. It is what gets you through the hard times. It’s what keeps you going on the days when you feel like giving up. We ALL have days like that. Your WHY has to be really strong and MUST be emotional. I can’t stress that enough. If you don’t have a really strong WHY, you won’t do what it takes to get things done. If you don’t know why you want success in your Young Living business, you will have a difficult time growing a business that amounts to anything.

    3. Believe in Yourself, in Young Living and the Direct Marketing Industry – This is HUGE. YOU MUST, YOU MUST, YOU MUST BELIEVE! If you aren’t 100% confident that you can do this, you may as well pack it up and settle in at the JOB. If you are struggling with belief, why not try a little EFT Tapping What If Tapping For Success in your Young Living Business

    4. Visualize Success – You MUST see yourself reaching your goals. You should actually have goals written down, then daily visualizing reaching those goals. Every night before going to bed visualize goals I want to achieve. I try to get as detailed as I possibly can. What I am wearing, who I am talking to, what I am saying, I visualized myself getting awards on stage. I visualized all kinds of scenarios where I could see my check and others could also see it and be impressed. My favorite was going into the bank to deposit the check and the bank teller wanting to know how I get all these big checks.

I had so much fun when I got to that point. I loved handing the bank teller my check for deposit. Some of them were around for several years and observed my checks growing. That’s one thing I miss now that our checks are direct deposited. These days checks are direct deposited. I kind of miss those days of having to run to the bank. 😉

Anyway, think up all kinds of ways you can visualize success. It’s fun and you’ll be amazed how it helps you get there faster. As you are visualizing, keep reflecting on your WHY.

    5. Take MASSIVE Action – This one seems like common sense to me. If you don’t take action, NOTHING will happen.

You must make a plan and then WORK YOUR PLAN! In the network marketing industry I have seen far too many distributors sign up who seem to think that all they have to do is join and their business will build itself as if by osmosis. Sorry to burst anyone’s bubble but that’s not how business of any kind works. Thankfully, with Young Living, we have such awesome products most people get started using the products, then the business starts growing from there. It’s much easier to share what you love.

Take appropriate action. Some people fiddle with this and that doing “business tasks” and are not really doing action that amounts to making progress

ACTION, ACTION, ACTION!! Every morning ask yourself, “What can I do today to MOVE my business forward toward the realization of my goals?”

    6. Learning From Mistakes – It is a fact of life. There will be mistakes, lots of them. In the beginning you are learning. You are learning about Young Living Essential Oils, learning ways to promote yourself and your business and just getting the feel for what fits your style of business building.

Don’t let mistakes scare you. Everyone who is successful in anything has made lots of mistakes through the process. You LEARN from mistakes. Be grateful for the things you learned. Make the adjustments you need to make and move FORWARD! I want to see people, Especially those on my team, experience the freedom of working from home but I’ve seen far too many distributors give up way too soon because the things they did to promote their business didn’t work as they planned.

You have to keep trying and testing until you find what fits YOUR style. There are marketing techniques that fit most anyone. I am an excellent example. I was very uncomfortable approaching strangers and I was not into harassing friends and family. I had to test all kinds of marketing and THAT I DID!

Lots of marketing techniques I tried were abysmal failures, some I spent a lot of money on. In the beginning I was broke so free and really cheap was all I could do. The point is, you have to keep trying and testing methods to promote your business.

Think of each mistake or failure as a lesson. Learn the lesson, make the adjustments and KEEP PROGRESSING!

Celebrate Success in your Young Living Business
    7. Celebrate Abundance – Be on the watch for anything that is progress. Celebrate progress. Celebrate abundance. Celebrate when you learn something that will grow your business. Celebrate success in others too.

Even in troubled times, there are lots of things that we can be thankful for. Celebrate those things. Reflect and rejoice over the good things. Gratitude reduces negativity.

Put on some Abundance or Gratitude essential oil and do a little Gratitude tapping while reflecting on all the things you are celebrating.

These success tips are just the start. Your upline leaders have their own list, so make sure you ask them how they became successful. Make sure you are having fun in the process.

.

Your thoughts and words are energy. Every person, plant, animal, rock, tree, every physical thing sends out energy. We are all radiating either a positive or negative energy. Positive energy attracts, Negative energy repels.

Did you know one positive word can change water’s structure? There is proof. A Japanese scientist named Masaru Emoto made a series of tests. Emoto realized both positive and negative words can have an influence on water’s structure by changing water’s crystals. During his study of water, Emoto came to some fascinating revelations. He came to a belief that water was the so-called ‘’blueprint of our reality’’ and our emotional energy and vibrations can change the physical structure of water.

Positive words created nicely shaped crystals, while negative words created ugly, disease-like crystals making water appear dirty and sick. Remember, our bodies are made up of a large percentage of water.

Here is an example of the power of words on water crystals:
Power of Words - Abundance Affirmation Tapping

Remember the saying “Sending off good vibes?” You actually do. Good or bad. Or how about, have you ever been in a good mood and someone with a bad mood entered the room? Have you noticed your own energy dropping? Even when no words are spoken, you can feel the drop in your energy.

Gary has done experiments with this. One test was with 2 women praising each other next to some Melissa plants, then harvesting and distilling the plants in the area. They did another test in another section of Melissa plants where 2 women were arguing and swearing at each other beside the plants. They harvested and distilled the plants. What they found is that the Melissa plants that were harvested and distilled with 2 women praising each other produced much more oil than the batch with 2 women arguing and swearing. That is why Young Living field workers are not allowed to go in the field if they are angry or use foul language.

Now, stop and think about your Young Living Business. If water and plants can be affected by our words and emotions, can you see how important it is to approach our business tasks every day with a powerful positive energy?

Knowing how powerful our thoughts and words are, you can see why it is a good idea to repeat affirmations. We attract what we are speaking and thinking about on a regular basis. When enough of these thoughts come together, the vibrations become heavier. Like energies (thoughts) attract to each other. This is called the law of attraction. Like attracts Like.

Remember this also works not only for the good thoughts but for bad thoughts, such as fear or lack. So, if you intend on attracting an abundantly growing Young Living business, you want to focus on what that looks like for you. You will attract what you think about.

Affirmations are a good way to help refocus your thoughts and intentions but affirmations Tapping is even more powerful. Take any affirmation you choose and tap through the EFT points while you are speaking or thinking. Add one of Young Living’s essential oils to your fingertips before tapping and you add even more power to your affirmation tapping sessions. Young Living has several blends for emotions which are amazing for EFT tapping. Abundance oil blend is one example.

Here we are again starting another December. This is my 21st December with Young Living Essential Oils. Very early in my career I saw the need to keep momentum going through the months that most people let their business activity slow down or even come to a complete halt. One of the biggest times some go inactive is through the holiday season.

Slowing down your business activity during ANY season is a HUGE mistake.

    1. Smart, business builders know that December is actually the month you should be picking up the pace and getting ready for the best time of the year for business.

    Grow Young Living Business
This is the time many are thinking about increasing their income and are making goals for the new year. This actually starts on the 26th of December but January is a HUGE month for attracting new distributors. People go online and start searching for business opportunities. This is another reason you are insane if you aren’t learning how to improve your online marketing skills.

    2. While so many network marketers are snoozing in their business, it is much easier for you to get noticed, especially if you have been learning attraction marketing skills.

    3. Most people are more involved with social events and getting together with friends and family. This can present all kinds of opportunities to share your products or the business. Use Young Living products in front of people. Listen to what people are saying. Share your peppermint or DiGize after a big meal, Share a mood uplifting oil. Pay attention to the many openings for a conversation. Strategically place products around where guests will see them and USE Young Living products in front of people to stir interest and questions. Be prepared to share information.

If you slow down or stop business activities for large blocks of time, you backslide. If you are serious about building a successful network marketing business, you will be consistently working through ALL months. This is the way we make progress. Some months we make small steps forward and some we make large leaps.

I always liked this article by John H. Kirk. I have had it in my files for years and shared it with many. It addresses an issue that is common with many network marketing (MLM) distributors. Sadly we see it among many distributors who want to build a business with Young Living. There is a daily method of operation that ALL successful Young Living business builders do. The article below helps to get in the right mindset for that. ENJOY!

Do You Just Show Up At Your Job and Expect to Get Paid?

by John H. Kirk

A lot of people complain that they don’t make money in MLM. I often ask them if they do any follow up to their downline. In most cases, they respond by saying that they don’t have the time and they don’t like talking to people on the phone. These are the people that just show up at their MLM job and expect to get paid. A few of them will luck out because their upline sponsor didn’t just show up, but the vast majority will not make any money. They will immediately start placing the blame on the program they are in. They will immediately say “this program doesn’t work”. WRONG! The reason they didn’t make any money was because THEY DIDN’T WORK!

MLM is different from most conventional jobs because each person is their own boss and each person sets their own hours. They also get to choose if they work or not. Unlike most regular jobs, there is no one to tell them that they have to be at work by 8:00 A.M and can’t quit until 5:00 P.M. They also know that there is a boss or supervisor watching them to see if they’re doing their work. If they don’t do their work, they will be fired from their job. In MLM, you don’t have that pressure of “do it or get fired”. However, you don’t have that salary cap you have on your regular job. Your income in MLM is only limited by the time and work that you put into it.

As a carpenter before I became involved in MLM, I knew that I couldn’t just show up and expect to get paid. I was an independent contractor and I got paid by how much work I did . . .
not to just show up. I had to invest in the tools of my trade, place advertising to get the jobs and spend countless hours of bidding on jobs that I may or may not get. This was time and money spent before I would ever see a dime! Once I received a job, I could only get paid for the work finished. This meant that my paycheck was directly connected to the amount of work I did. Do you know what would have happened if I had just showed up at the job site and did nothing? I had mt tools; had my job to do! Now all I had to do was sit there and wait for someone to pay me to do nothing! It doesn’t work that way and MLM is no different.

The MLM company provides you with the tools (camera ready materials). It provides you with the job (to build a marketing sales force . . . your downline). You have to not just show up! You must mail your circulars. You have to advertise your business to purchase my tools of the trade and place my advertising). This is where most people who fail in MLM stop. No wonder they don’t make money! They haven’t even bid on any jobs yet. The next step is to bid your jobs. This is done by following up with your downline and getting that commitment to work the program. Yes, you will get some “no thank you’s”. I know that I certainly did when I bid for my jobs in construction. On the average I had to bid 10 in order to get one! Now it’s time to go to work! This is where you get paid for your efforts! It’s now your job to stay in touch with the people who committed to you. You must help them go through the same process of getting their tools, placing their advertising and getting their bids (commitments) and getting them to repeat the process to their downline. This process does not stop. If you stopped going to work and doing the job you were hired for on your regular job . . . you wouldn’t have a job or a paycheck very long would you? Why do some people think that MLM is different. It’s not.

I hope that I have given each of you something to think about. In 99% of the cases, when a person blames a “program” or a “company” for his or her failure to make money in MLM . . . you can bet that they just showed up and expected to be paid.
